The highlight of the tour is the opportunity to spend an unforgettable day in the world’s largest and perhaps most famous flower garden – magnificent Keukenhof, also known as the ‘Garden of Europe’.
Some seven million flowers carpet the ground in a breath-taking horticultural display that attracts visitors from around the world each year. A variety of 800 tulips can be viewed, and each year a specific theme is followed.
There will also be ample time in the country’s capital Amsterdam, and you’ll get to travel the waters on a canal cruise – arguably the best way to see the sights of the city. You can then explore its labyrinth of cobblestone streets, browse its museums, and pause in one of the many bars and cafés.
Visits to the delightful villages of Holland’s windmill-dotted landscape and the reclaimed Zuider Zee form the background of another excursion. You can stroll the pretty lanes of the historic fishing village of Volendam – and catch a glimpse of Dutch life.
Further insights will be revealed as you’ll experience a wooden shoemaking demonstration, one of Amsterdam’s most traditional crafts in Zaandam, home to famous windmills. This will be followed by a cheese tasting in the town of Edam.

The Netherlands is one place on mainland Europe that we’ve yet to visit. Be nice to scrub that one off our bucket list.
I’ve always wanted to visit and see the country in spring time when the flowers are blooming, its on my bucket list and next year would be great when I reach 60 in February.
I visited The Netherlands with my late husband about 10 years ago in our camper van. It surpassed all expectations, and we visited so many interesting towns. I particularly remember a brewery somewhere in the north which served an amazing shrimp salad along with their wheat beer. We did not visit Amsterdam as it is easier to steer clear of cities when driving a big vehicle! So, I would love to go back and revisit some of the old towns and, of course, visit Amsterdam for the first time.
This sounds like a wonderful holiday with a great mix of activities. I have never been to a bulb field so it would be very exciting to see all the colours of the tulips and to wander around picturesque towns.

What a brilliant trip
Well apart from the fact The Netherlands are on my bucket list my daughter visited a few years ago and has not stopped describing how beautiful and friendly the country is and apparently some of my ancestors Dutch and weirdly a paternal uncle patented a way to prevent bulbs from rotting
Day out in Portmerion is a day to remember. To visit the tiny whimisical village, hugging a small bay on the West coast of Wales, is a delightful way to spend a day. Wander round the colourful unique buildings that make up this unique venue and eat at The Cafe. Treat yourself to a fresh salmon ceaser salad and opposite a luscious ice cream cone. Then shop for local pottery or art works.There is an amazing Tree Trail walk, that leads to a sea front walk, complete with minature lighthouse. The whole place is spotlessly clean, staff are so friendly and so worth a visit.
If is our 50th wedding anniversary next Mat I have always wanted to see the tulip fields so would be fantastic trip.
I have been only been once to the Keukenhof Gardens personally. I really loved it then. But, I have been doing Virtual Trips with a firm called Heygo who have wonderful Guides who take us there. I would really love to go again to the Keukenhof Gardens in person to see all the magnificent new tulips, and see what 2023’s theme is, and would love to see the traditional windmill again.

I have a Dutch friend who I met when we were both 14. Both now in our 70s it would be wonderful to meet up again, visit the tulip fields and discover Amsterdam after a 40 year gap, see the sights and perhaps visit the Rijksmuseum

We visited the Keukenhof gardens with our children many years ago. They were remarkably well behaved and earned their “best behaviour “ treats afterwards. However, we would love to revisit, now that we travel without our children, and enjoy the gardens, the architecture and the cuisine at our leisure ! We are looking forward to holidaying with our recently arrived first grandchild, but this adult break for “just the two of us” would be a wonderful Springtime tonic.

It’s thirty years since I visited the bulb fields with a Dutch friend I met on holiday in India. We kept in touch for many years until her untimely death at 50 a few years ago. A return visit would bring back happy memories of a good friend and the times we had together.

It’s many years since I visited the Netherlands. It is a very interesting place both culturally and historically.
There is so much to see and experience in Amsterdam. I’d love to visit the tulip fields as they are supposed to be breath taking. Most things are accessible by bike or canal boat so exploring should be a new challenge. It is supposed to be a layer back city with its own unique history and the beer is good to. So what more could you want.

For me it was always the life of the bulb fields that attracted me, but when I visited with my daughter 20 years ago, it was the fabulous art galleries and museums that fascinated me, together with flower market and street performers.

A visit to Keukenhof 25 years ago led to a lifelong addiction to growing tulips but my efforts never led to anything that resembled the beds of riotous colour I found in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, I continue to try, and each year I invest time and money in the newest bulbs. I’d love the chance to return and see what is new in the Keukenhof Gardens next year and maybe, just maybe, if I buy some bulbs on site, I may finally get that blaze of colour or splash of pure white, that I yearn to create in my garden and in the pots on the patio.
As a retired English teacher I taught the Diary of Anne Frank to my students and would very much like to visit the house of this brave young girl.

I haven’t been to The Netherlands for many years and would love to see Amsterdam with a canal trip and to visit the museums and Anne Frank House, statue and the tour of her neighbourhood and school as well as the nearby concentration camp tour, I read the story of Anne Frank as a child and it has haunted me ever since. My mum and dad went to Amsterdam with you many years ago and never stopped talking about it for the years before they died. Their photographs showed the beautiful flowers, the canals, buildings and crafts people making it a much wanted place to visit. The sight of the bulb fields and the Keukenhof gardens in the spring is a “once seen never forgotten “ experience. We visited over 20 years ago and would love to back. The Amsterdam canals and museums are other memories we would love to relive.
I visited in 1969 and the coach guide told us we were going to witness the most spectacular Hyacinth display.
Announcing that within one minute we will see this most beautiful site we sat in Great expectation and was stunned to see acre after acre of blank fields.
An explanation came that it was to produce a stronger bulb next year.

Holland is such a beautiful country. This year we visited Delft and Woerden (such a lovely self-contained town) in early summer and had such a good time we would love to go again, only this time a bit earlier so that we could see the bulbfields at their best.

I can recommend a night cruise (with drinks & meal) on the Amsterdam canals, always gives you a different perspective of the city.
My favourite Spring bulb is the glorious Tulip so this trip would be a dream come true.

Having read all the comments already made …. I think my reason for wanting to go is a mixture of nearly all of them!!! My parents lived in a little village called Blaricum near Amsterdam for five years back in the 1980’s and my mother took me to The Keukenhof to see the famous bulb fields. It was something I shall never ever forget. Stunningly beautiful, with not enough superlative adjectives in the English language to describe it. My parents loved living in Holland, it’s such a beautiful country. Sadly my father passed away 8 years ago and my mother passed away this June just gone, three weeks before her 96th birthday. I would dearly love to go back to Holland and especially The Keukenhof in memory of them both, as it was a time and a place I shall never forget. The Dutch are some of the kindest and friendliest people on earth and they have a joie de vivre like no other nation I know of. I can probably think of a million other reasons to go back to Holland – but they are too numerous to write here. Should I be lucky enough to win this prize though, maybe I can realise quite a few of them.

Keukenhof Gardens are absolutely beautiful in the Spring – blue rivers of grape hyacinth, tulips of every colour, dappled sunlight through the new greenery of the trees.
Amsterdam is an architecture lover’s delight. Keep your eyes raised to wonder at the myriad of different gable rooflines along the canals – endlessly fascinating.
I like to travel to see the iconic scenes that abound on travel websites, programmes and literature – such as the Grand Canyon, the Taj Mahal, Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge etc but since Covid and its fallout and subsequent travel problems we decided to complete our bucket list and regain confidence in travelling by visiting such iconic scenes closer to home. Thus, a trip to Amsterdam and escorted trips to the Bulb Fields would be the perfect start point.
Fab experience for the winner, Holland as I am told is an amazing country, lovely culture, friendly people with some really exciting places to visit, especially Anne Frank’s house (museum)

We tried to visit for our 40th wedding anniversary but family circumstances made it impossible, romance can happen any year and I can think of nowhere more romantic to celebrate an
April anniversary.

I have always wanted to visit The Netherlands since I was a little girl, with their style of houses and architecture. Tulips are one of my favourite flowers and the Dutch are always interesting people to talk to.
Reading this brought back a long-forgotten memory. As a child, for a few months, we had a young lady teacher in primary school, she was from Holland and regaled us with tales of the Keukenhof fields in the early 50s. Just after they opened her parents had taken her from their home in Haarlem ‘to see what all the fuss was about’. She showed us photographs of her and her sister running through fields of tulips (much to her father’s chagrin she said). I was fascinated and dreamt for several nights that I was flying like a bird over endless fields of tulips, I imagined myriads of colors, including sparkling gold and silver ones! I swore to myself that as soon as I was old enough, I too would visit Keukenhof and run through the poppy fields. Alas, a pledge soon forgotten, now 60 years later I doubt if they allow people to run through the fields, but to see them would make a childhood dream finally come true.

40 years ago my husband and l visited Holland to play hockey against a dutch team located near the polders. We made many friends, fell in love with both the country and its people. We took our children on many enjoyable holidays there especially to Zandvoort, a great holiday town with a long sandy beach, dunes and only 30 minutes away by train to Amsterdam with its canals, zoo, and museums.
We never made it to the Botanical gardens in Amsterdam which we would love to visit as well as to Edam to sample the cheese, the bulb fields and the picturesque Dutch landscape with it’s windmills.
Amsterdam and the tulip fields are on our bucket list of ‘must see and must do’ – it would be nice to cross something off the ever growing list 😍

Had the good fortune to pay a visit to Holland in the 1980’s on business in Appeldorn and stopped for a short while at Arnhem and Gouda on the way back to catch the ferry at the Hook. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the Dutch people and the scenery and would love to see more of the Netherlands now.

Every Autumn I order tulip and hyacinth bulbs for my front garden. I plan a pattern of colours to create my own mini Kreukenhof that will wow passers-by in the Spring. But although I always have a colourful display, there’s no sign of my carefully designed pattern. Could I have mixed up the bulbs yet again? A stroll through the wonderful Kreukenhof Park would inspire me to carry on planting and creating when I get back to my own garden.
