Opera at La Scala

This escorted visit to Milan, staying at the Rosa Grand Milano Hotel offers a wonderful opportunity to take a closer look at this most vibrant of Italian cities, enjoy some fine music, art, excellent food and take in an opera performance of Mozart’s ‘Marriage of Figaro’ at La Scala. Opera & Ballet in Milan

This escorted short break in this most vibrant of Italian cities is timed to avoid the summer crowds, allowing you to view the many special places at a leisurely pace whether on one of the guided tours or whilst exploring independently. Includes two performances at La Scala: Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet ‘Swan Lake’ and Rossini’s comic opera ‘The Barber of Seville’. Also includes two guided tours of Milan and a visit to the Medieval city of Cremona where a violin-making workshop will provide a fascinating insight into the construction of violins. Opera at the Arena

Explore Verona and experience the joy of listening to opera in the open air of the Verona Arena -a magnificent ancient Roman amphitheatre. Includes two opera performances, for the June departure it will be a double bill of Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Aida’ and ‘Rigoletto’, and for August it will be Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ and ‘Madame Butterfly’ with performances taking place after dark. In addition, there is ample time to explore Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, which is full of architecturally striking piazzas, churches and museums, evidence of its Roman and Medieval past. Guests will also enjoy a day on the shores of Lake Garda and a day spent in the viticulture district of Valpolicella. 5 nights from 28 June and 9 August 2023 from £3,295pp.
