With useful tips on parking, special assistance, flight cancellations and luggage pickup, you will be certain to have a comfortable time at the airport, before boarding your ‘plane.

And you might like to have a look at airport maps here. Having an idea of what to expect can always take any potential stress out of a travel situation.

One Silver Traveller recently sent us this report:

“The recent improvements to the North Terminal have greatly enhanced the traveller experience. From the bag drop and automatic baggage check in to the security and passport check, everything worked well with minimal waiting, even at the weekend. What a change from previous occasions.

Airport Lounge Then in the departure lounge we saw the line of buggies by the desk helping passengers with special needs. Although I had not prebooked special assistance I was using a walking stick because of a temporary foot problem and the staff at the desk could not have been more helpful. We were assigned a driver who took us to gate 106, which turned out to be very much further than I could have walked – and he insisted on escorting us with our hand baggage to the front of the boarding line to be first on the plane! WHAT SERVICE!

This was the first time in many years that flying from Gatwick was a pleasurable experience at every stage.”

That’s very heartening to read!
