In our recent survey (summer 2015) we asked what might be on your travel wish list, with a range of options, the results confirmed what we knew and also surprised us too! So here is a round-up of what you voted for.
Northern Lights
This is a clear winner, over 50% of you want to see this amazing spectacle. And those of you who have absolutely loved the experience, many taking Norwegian or Arctic cruises to do this. You can also take a land-based trip with activities too, in the quest to view the Aurora Borealis. Imagine sleeping in a heated glass igloo, with panoramic views to the sky, from your glass skylight! Find your holiday, click on holiday types and then Northern Lights in the listing.
A weekend in Venice
Is this choice a sign that we are all romantics, dreaming of St Mark’s Square and gondola trips, whilst being serenaded by a real Italian? It is a city to wander in, and meander around to sample authentic food and catch glimpses of local life. The entire city is a World Heritage Site, with breath-taking architecture and artwork to marvel at around each corner and across every bridge. Visit through www.kirkerholidays.com.
A round-the-world cruise
Imagine taking in the major countries of the world from the comfort of a luxurious stateroom, with no hassle whatever. Travelling for 3 or 4 months to new and exciting countries is surely a marvellous thing to do! And if you can’t spare quite so much time, it’s perfectly possible to cruise on a specific leg of the trip, flying in and out to join the ship. Going on safari
A dream for many of us and very much worth it! Seeing exotic wildlife in its own environment is remarkable, sleeping in tented camps with the darkest nights is quite magical. And of course, you can enjoy the delights of 5* accommodation too. Contact either www.coxandkings.co.uk or www.tropicalsky.co.uk to book this holiday.
And the booby prize goes to … bungee jumping!
It seems that very few of you fancy this, although we have had reports of octogenarians thoroughly enjoying themselves as they hurtle through the air on a giant elastic band!
