The Nebra Sky Disc, for example, is the world’s oldest surviving map of the stars, perhaps over 3,500 years old, and it depicts the moon, stars and planets in gold on a metal ‘plate’.
The exhibition links together the objects on display with the latest scientific and archaeological knowledge about Stonehenge. This is a great precursor to a visit to the actual stones in Wiltshire and brilliant for anyone, young or old, who is interested in ancient history.
