Your journey will begin in Bilbao and head west to the historic Santiago de Compostela.
This fabulous prize includes a visit to the Guggenheim museum, a tour of a local winery, a stroll through the beautiful old town of León and a half day guided tour of Santiago de Compostela. As you walk through this stunning area of Spain for four days, you’ll soak up the beauty of the verdant Galician countryside and be amazed by the magnificent views from the tiny mountain village of Cebreiro, 1300 metres above sea level. This trip is ideal for novice to moderately experienced walkers, with an average walking distance around 6 miles or 10 km per day on mostly flat, gravel terrain.
2021 is set to be a memorable year for pilgrims around the world as it is the next Holy Year on the Camino de Santiago. Celebrated whenever the Feast of St James (25 July) falls on a Sunday, the last one was in 2010, and pilgrims who walk the Camino in 2021 will be able to enter the Cathedral by the ‘Holy Door’ which is only opened during that year.

I can confirm that this is a wonderful holiday. I was lucky enough to accompany the prize winner and we had a fabulous time. The professional guide was excellent even though she was thrown in at the deep end, having had to stand in at the very last minute. We enjoyed the walking but were glad there was a choice of distances as most of the group were much younger than us!
It was certainly lovely to know that each evening we would be staying in a quality hotel and the evenings when we all dined out together were memorable both for the food and the company.
