This month’s superb cruise prize comes courtesy of our partners, Voyages of Discovery, specialists in small ship cruising, with just 540 passengers on board, which allows the ship to visit smaller ports, giving you an even more fulfilling experience. When travelling on the Voyager, exceptional guest lecturers enhance your land excursions by bringing alive the destinations, with talks on history, wildlife and culture. And you can relax with the spa, sauna, salon or in the Lido pool or the hot tubs. For those who like to be active a fitness centre is on offer too. With 2 restaurants, 3 lounges and 4 bars, the fine food and drinks are there to be enjoyed. A library, card-playing room and internet hub will keep you informed and entertained whilst sailing.
Our prizewinner and partner will be joining Voyager on her maiden cruise to St Helier in Jersey, having left Portsmouth the evening before on June 6th. There is much to see on the largest Channel Island, including evidence of World War II’s German occupation. It’s known as the Island of Flowers due to the delightfully mild climate, which you can enjoy with a stroll on one of the idyllic beaches or a visit to Gerald Durrell’s remarkable Wildlife Park.
The next stop is Honfleur in France, with its magical light which inspired so many of the Impressionist painters. The charm and beauty of this fishing town, including cobbled streets and traditional buildings, attracted many of the famous artists, with Monet creating his famous garden at Giverny close by and of course, painting many of his great works there.
The ship then returns to the UK, after an enchanting short voyage.
