We are looking for a guest reviewer to visit the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, close to Exmoor. You’ll stay for two nights in this beautiful village with a partner, with dinner provided on one evening and you can take your dog too!
The medieval village of Dunster in Exmoor National Park is a great place to stay with your canine companions, with some walks in and around the village, including around the National Trust property Dunster Castle and Gardens. The gardens are extensive and there is a lovely riverside walk with romantic old bridges crossing the water. You can also enjoy a long walk around the surrounding fields of the castle, there is a permissible path alongside the River Avill and dogs can enjoy a swim or a splash in the river.
Nearby are the waymarked forestry walks of the Crown Estate’s Dunster woodlands including the Bats Castle trail where you climb up high to an Iron Age Hill-fort with spectacular panoramas of Exmoor and the coast. Also in the Dunster woodlands is the Tall Trees Trail, where you can see the tallest tree in England.
Dunster beach is just a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the village for a stroll along the shore where you can walk to Minehead in one direction, or Blue Anchor in the other.
The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster is highly recommended as a base to stay to explore the area. The hoteliers are dog owners, so they really welcome pets, with dog friendly rooms, a drying room for clothes, towels and dog beds can be provided on request and the hotel has a ‘woof guide’ giving ideas for walks and places to eat where your dog can accompany you. The hotel also has 2 for 1 vouchers for many local attractions which are dog friendly.

If you would like to visit this hotel, with a partner or friend, and write 2 reviews for us (one on the hotel, the other about the area) of 6/700 words each, with 3 or 4 photos too, please add a Comment below or join the Forum thread to tell us why you would be the best reviewer for the assignment, and also if you’ll be accompanied by a canine friend! Do you have a special connection to the area? Or a fond memory of a visit in the past? Or perhaps Dunster and Exmoor are places you’ve always wanted to visit?
