It’s filled with local wineries and is home to some of the most famous wines that we know and love, it’s also got some of the most stunning scenery and plenty of sights for you to admire – you’ll fall in love with Australia as soon as you enter the south.

If you’re looking for the best time to visit the south of Australia then the Vintage Festival runs throughout the Easter season and it is definitely a great experience. Otherwise the weather is best throughout the autumn season, although it is beautiful all year round. Adelaide is the wine capital of Australia and is definitely a must-see for all wine lovers or experts – it’s got over 200 wine cellars.

So where should you visit if you’re looking for the finest Australian wineries?

Barossa Valley and Margaret River
Barossa ValleyWith plenty of history and culture on offer in Barossa Valley you can enjoy a glass of the famous Eden Valley Riesling while admiring the beautiful views of Margaret River. Your trip is of course not complete until you have tasted one of the most famous wines, Jacob’s Creek – it’s grown in Australia and is popular all over the world so it’s definitely not a taste to miss out on. If you’re by the Margaret River then you may well want to visit the Voyager Estate and Vasse Felix where you’ll be able to learn some of the secrets to professional wine making.

Yarra Valley
Yarra Valley is home to Victoria’s first ever wine region. It’s also the birth place of the ever popular wine, Pinot Noir which is a delicious red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes. If you’re looking for something fruity and refreshing then this wine could be for you. While you’re in the Yarra Valley area you should venture into Tasmania to see their array of delicious home grown food and quality wine that you’ll no doubt love.

Bruny IslandCoal River Valley and Bruny Island
Coal River Valley is the place for you to broaden your horizons and try a selection of award-winning wines, there is sure to be one that you fall in love with and what better way to spend your time in Australia than trying out their finest wines in some of the best wineries in the world. For a bit of culture take a trip to Bruny Island – Australia’s most southern winery.

As well as tasting the exquisite wine, there will be sommeliers on hand to tell you everything you need to know about the production of wine, wine styles and the variety of grapes used to make the wine so enjoyable.
